I'm a young American man in my mid-twenties, so George W. Bush was the President of the United States for my entire adult life until January 2009 when President Barack Obama took office. During those 8 years, I witnessed an incredibly heinous dismantling of everything I had been taught that America stood for: truth, justice, liberty, and democracy.

I saw an administration tell blatant lies over and over again, almost as a matter of habit. I saw a right-wing media monster propagate these untruths until millions of Americans believed them as if they were common knowledge. I saw what can happen to a country when you scare the shit out of them for half a decade. I saw the power that the right-wing media really has.

There were people who were fighting this monster, but ultimately it wasn't until later that people began to wake up. It wasn't until after tens of thousands of American troops died, until after the national debt reached the trillions, after the economy began to tank, etc. America woke up and elected Barack Obama in an electoral landslide.

But this fight isn't over. Even as I type this, the right-wing conglomerate is at work again. They are doing their absolute best to undermine each and every word and action Obama is making. And while I don't have very much influence on my own, I just can't sit around and not do my part on the side of truth and reason against these buffoons.

Am I just a blind Obama supporter? Not in the least. Obama's policies are far from perfect, and if he or any left-wing speaker/politician/pundit ever tries to pull any of the villainous nonsense that Bush did, I will be the first to point it out. But you see, Republicans and the right wing media have a very long track record of being full of shit. So they're naturally flagged first and foremost.

So that's the purpose of this blog: propagating the truth, combatting bullshit, and actually getting something done in a country left in shatters by the previous administration. You won't find any conspiracy theories on this website; and in fact, you'll find few opinions. Of course I'll offer my viewpoint every now and then, but the main purpose of this blog is to disseminate pure facts, and to help counter the inevitable onslaught of lies to come. And I'll tell some jokes too.
